Learn ways to enjoy some “me” time even if it is “we” time. When baby is small enough there are plenty of moves to do while they are resting beneath you. The movement keeps the baby engaged while mom is taking time to connect to her own body’s needs. Learn a routine that grows your strength along with the baby's size. This can be a perfect opportunity to learn simple movements for around the house little “yoga snacks” throughout the day. Another option would be to get some friends involved. Enjoy a small routine with a tea and adult conversation to follow.
Let the fun come to you with music, toys, games, and lots of fun! Fun is what this class is all about. It's fun for the littles because there are movements, sounds, and play. It's fun for the moms because it’s a chance to connect to their own personal inner child. Children model the behaviors of their caretakers. By showing your child that it is safe to play, laugh, and be silly you give them permission to be more expressive. The group class is carefully curated for moments of excitement mixed with moments of calm teaching their growing nervous systems important self regulatory tools.
We offer a fun filled experience for kids of all ages. Younger kids can choose a fun theme - Jungle, Beach, Farm, Dinosaur, Princess, Superhero, Outer Space, Nature, or come up with your own! Older kids can choose from a super fun well-rounded yoga class with group and partner poses and lots of fun yoga games, or a theme of their choice.Class includes props, music, a yoga game or two, and relaxation time.
Sara’s yoga classes for kids and teens blend fun, movement, and mindfulness to support their physical and emotional growth. With age-appropriate activities, younger kids explore playful energy, while older kids and teens focus on self-awareness, stress management, and building confidence.
During these ages kids are still imaginative and very energetic. We keep the classes in waves from energetic to calm so that children can get a sense of how to find this regulation on their own outside of class. We love to play a lot of games or obstacle courses to get their energy out before working with breath and relaxation tools.
These children are still getting used to their growing bodies in space so embodiment is the main focus. Being more calm and cooperative age we work with group poses and safe space sharing; teaching them empathy and the importance of connection.
This class is more like a traditional yoga class but with more of an emphasis on self awareness. Getting the teens eyes off of other peoples mats and keeping the attention inward. Yoga helps to foster a sense of self that helps to build authentic self-esteem. Tensions and stressors are high in the teenage years so we also work with a lot of stress reduction exercises that can also be used off of the mat.
